즈비넥 발라드란은 체코의 과거 역사와 관련된 지식과 도상, 서사 등으로부터 비롯된 드로잉 애니메이션, 다큐멘타리 등으로 잘 알려져 있다. 과거의 기록물이나 선전용 영화들, 그리고 낡은 사운드 트랙과 소음들 속에서 발견되는 집단적 무의식을 발굴하는 과정을 통해 그의 작업은 고고학적 성격을 보여주어 왔다.

Zbyněk Baladrán is mainly known for his animate drawings and documentaries based on knowledge, symbol and narratives that relate to the history of the Czech Republic. His works act as an archaeological study that uncovers collective unconsciousness from records, propaganda films, old soundtracks and sounds. In the Model of the Universe, the artist explains the ultimate principles to understand the world with a sheet of paper, a pencil and a few diagrams. He draws abstract symbols and makes definitive comments about the world that embodies radical simplicity as much as the paradoxical impossibility of its goal. Baladrán questions whether the relationship between image and sound is a reciprocal one or a descriptive understanding of two different realities. This work reminds us of the fictitious analogy of the universe and the world according Jorge Louis Borges that stretch beyond reality.
