Notes for a Séance Part 1

This video documents the 13th Seoul Mediacity Biennale (SMB13) pre-Biennale II Notes for a Séance held at Seoul Museum of Art on November 30, 2024. Introducing ideas informing the curatorial imagination for the 13th edition of the Biennale, Part 1 titled “Death, Art, and Spirituality,” Anton Vidokle spoke to the centrality of death and the pursuit of immortality in mystical and spiritual practices throughout history, as well as the impact this has made on the development, iconography, and language of art.
