Subways are the most important means of mass transportation in Seoul. The subway lines are extensive and the numbers of daily subway users is significant. It is time for us to recognize the importance of subways as cultural spaces, as public spaces of art and culture. In the realm of unifying art and the public domain, we like to provide passengers with various things to read and to look at. Passengers are viewers of our newspaper work, but we will make it different from actual newspapers sold in the subway: ours lacks both formalism and sensualism. Because of the characteristics of the space, there are a number of instant/fast distributions of cultures in the subways. In order to survive in the subways, everything has to be more shocking and sensual, and we call these characteristics fast culture or instant culture. In this fast culture, SUPARTIST makes and distributes an art newspaper, the Sports Dullness, to give passengers better information.
