The truth is sacred from its origin
It does not give birth, it does not perish,
it does not have any name,
it does not have any form,
and it is truthful to itself.
Buddha preached without remembering it,
leaving a futile attempt lacking
meritorious Karma.
Thus
the heaven and earth lost their colors
and the sun and the moon lost their light.

Seosan Daesa, Seongagwigam, 1564*
