Chimurenga was founded in 2002 by Ntone Edjabe and is based in Cape Town, South Africa. It carries out a wide range of projects including magazine publishing, book production, and broadcasting. Serving as both a platform for editorial and curatorial activities and an online resource center, Chimurenga engages with diverse forms of cultural production. Chimurenga is also active as the Exhibition and Publising Team, Quarterly Pan-African Gazette, the Chronic.
