Each roundtable discussion at the SMB13 will feature artists and collaborators of Séance: Technology of the Spirit to briefly introduce their work in the exhibition and collectively discuss topics ranging from music as a conduit to other worlds; ecstatic and transcendental experience; nonhuman intelligence and magic; the power invested in objects; the fragility of memory; art’s role in processing grief, trauma, and absence; and humor as an expression of resistance, among many other possible themes.
