Blood Pressure

2001

I am all orders of being, The circling galaxy, The evolutionary intelligence, The lift and the falling away. What is and what isn’t.
Rumi (1207–1273)

Sometimes places cause involuntary spasms in me and you. We reconstruct them in our minds as memory: as the light of an object and its internal image. Sometimes the sense of a place joins to other senses in our hearts and transforms into a part of our own blood and lives with us forever.
The light of the heart is hidden in a drop of blood.

Blood Pressure is a project on human condition in a new world where its inhabitants never obtain the real but only exist in a state of transition. A state where boundaries are extended beyond recognition and information is coded into abstraction. The process of motion through time redefines itself, folds itself, duplicates itself, and multiplies the point of departure as it confuses the point of destination. We depart, and depart: heading somewhere but reaching nowhere. The irreducible plurality of data we incessantly collect alters our format of being to a possibility of becoming.

Our psychological domain is inside the outside of an unknown place, and this is where we are staying for at least a while. Like an asthmatic hungering for a deep fresh breath, we hunger for ourselves. I am you and you are no longer a surface of reflection. Nature, with its random balance, once complete, is now incomplete yet love discovers a new meaning as earthbound pleasures depend more on the supernatural. The body’s folding upon itself is accompanied by an unfolding of imaginary spaces.
