This is a video documentation of the lecture “Old Problems Gathered in a Temporary Manner” by artist Chung Seoyoung, held on October 28, 2014. The lecture opened Part 4, “Old Media,” of the conference Miracles, Violence, Disorders and Spirits (괴력난신), co-organized by SeMA Biennale Mediacity Seoul 2014 and the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation. Centering on the sculpture–installation Old Problems Gathered in a Temporary Manner, presented in the Biennale, Chung reveals a series of aesthetic processes that led to this work and to her recent practice.
